Emotions and tributes from the motorsports community poured in after the news that NASCAR veteran Greg Biffle and his family were among the seven on board in a fatal plane crash Thursday in Statesville,

A memorial for NASCAR legend Greg Biffle had only been up for an hour Thursday before Mooresville neighbors covered the sidewalk with flowers.

For all the races and some memorable wins, Greg Biffle is perhaps best remembered for his work as a helicopter pilot supplying aid in the devastation left behind by Hurricane Helene.

It is unclear if Greg Biffle, who spent much of last fall delivering life-saving goods to those stranded by Hurricane Helene, was on board the jet.
