Arizona has taken the top spot in the AP Top 25 men's college basketball poll. This comes after a perfect start to the season.
The nice rise for the Cyclones was certainly deserved, but there is still a lot of competition around the nation. Coming in ranked first was the Michigan Wolverines, who proved by winning the Players Era Festival that they are a team to be reckoned with this year.
Florida lost to UConn and Duke back-to-back games, plus TCU making it three losses in the past four games. The Gators are now 0-3 vs top 10 KenPom teams and 5-1 against the rest. George Washington falls into the rest category, but what I really like outside of this bounce-back spot on a neutral venue in Miami, FL, is that GW plays fast.
The big tweaks will come in the teens this week with No. 12 Alabama, No. 13 Illinois, No. 16 Texas Tech and No. 18 Florida all sustaining losses. No. 23 Nebraska's win over No. 13 Illinois and No. 25 UCLA's loss to No. 8 Gonzaga should also be a factor in the final tabulations.
