An Auburn University student and his father were among the seven people killed in the North Carolina plane crash on Thursday.

NASCAR driver Greg Biffle and his family were among those killed in the crash of a business jet Thursday, Dec. 18, at Statesville (North Carolina) Regional Airport, about 40 miles from Charlotte.

“We are devastated by the loss of our loved ones. This tragedy has left all of our families heartbroken beyond words,” the families’ statement said.
