After posting and deleting another criticism of NFL officials, Puka Nacua explained his comments following the Rams' TNF loss in Seattle.
After the Los Angeles Rams ' 38-37 overtime loss to the Seattle Seahawks, Rams star wide receiver Puka Nacua re-ignited one of several controversies he caused this week, posting -- and then quickly thereafter deleting -- criticism of the officiating on X.
Nacua apologized earlier Thursday after appearing on a livestream this week in which he practiced an antisemitic touchdown dance.
Puka Nacua did not hit a controversial dance following a touchdown on Thursday night. The Rams superstar scored in the fourth quarter of Los Angeles’ road matchup with the Seahawks, but when he got up to celebrate, he spun the ball, performed a quick gesture with his arms, and then had some fun with his teammates.
He also said he would do a touchdown celebration that is "antisemitic in nature," as he wrote in an apology. During the Rams game against the Seahawks on Thursday Night Football, Prime Video's Al Michaels and Kirk Herbstreit briefly addressed the comments made by Nacua in the vaguest terms possible.
The most controversial call of the game happened after an incompletion a potential game-tying two-point conversion was reversed by replay review into a backward pass and a fumble that was recovered by the Seahawks in the end zone, when running back Zach Charbonnet nonchalantly picked up what he (and everyone else) assumed was a dead ball.
Puka Nacua critiqued referees for wanting "TV time" earlier in the week. On Thursday, he doubled down on his sentiment.
After a week of drama, Puka Nacua had the greatest game of his career in a loss before calling out the NFL refs on social media.
