Racing driver Greg Biffle, his wife and children have been killed in a plane crash, Republican Richard Hudson has confirmed in a social media post.

Authorities say the plane departed for Sarasota, Florida, in the morning in drizzly and foggy conditions and flight tracking data show the aircraft turning around moments after takeoff.
